Bee sting remedy , Penny for your thoughts!!

A dear Friend Posted this and I asked if Icould post it here to share !

Don't know if this works but worth a penny.
This information may be something to remember, as this season will soon
be here again...

It might be wise to carry a penny in your pocket
while working in the yard........ .. BEE STINGS !

A couple of weeks ago, I was stung by both a bee and hornet while working in the garden.

My arm swelled up, so I went to the doctor. The clinic gave me cream and an antihistamine. The next day
the swelling was getting progressively worse, so
I went to my regular doctor. The arm was Infected and needed an antibiotic.

The doctor told me - ' The next time you get stung, put a penny on the bite for 15 minutes'. That night, my niece was stung by two bees. I looked at
the bite and it had already started to swell. So, I taped a penny to
her arm for 15 minutes. The next morning, there was no sign of a bite.
We decided that she just wasn't allergic to the sting.

Soon, I was gardening outside. I got stung again, twice by
a hornet on my left hand. I thought, here I go again to the doctor
another antibiotic. I promptly got my
money out and taped two pennies to my bites, then sat and sulked for 15 minutes. The penny took the string out of the bite immediately.

In the meantime the hornets were attacking, and my friend was stung on the thumb. Again the penny. The next morning I could only see the spot where the hornet had stung me. No redness, no swelling. My friend's sting was the same; couldn't even tell where she had been stung.

She got stung again a few days later upon her back---cutting the grass!
And the penny worked once again.

Wanted to share this marvelous information in case you experience the same
problem. We need to keep a stock of pennies on hand ..

The doctor said that the copper in the penny counteracts the bite.

It definitely works!

Please remember and pass this information on to your friends, children,
grandchildren, etc

Morning Glories ,this is for Becky and her Flower Friends!

I had the privilege of meeting a Lady named Becky through . Great place to give away or get things that we don't need but still has life left. I have even saw cars on there!
Anyway She was asking for Plants for her and some flower friends! So I took the chance to get rid of some more of my houseplants and some stuff from the yard I have a whole lot of and could afford to share! I just brought around 2 flats of flowers to my Mom and her friends less than 3 weeks ago. I just can't stand to see flowers get thrown out. Everything i have, multiplies some how!! I scattered seeds everywhere too, thinking just a few would come up and Most are!
YEAH ,more flowers! I told her I would try to blog about what i gave her and show her pictures.
I had lots of morning glory so I loaded her up with those too. so here's the first flower .
I will try to get more up ASAP.

Morning glory vines grow very fast, reaching 10 feet or more two months after seeds
sprout, and they will climb on just
about any support. Profusely flowering against a background of pale green foliage, they
quickly form lovely hedges or
screens. The vines are sometimes used as a temporary ground cover, and do well in hanging
baskets and containers. They
should be planted in full sun and need a soil that is not too fertile or moist to prevent
the production of leaves instead of flowers.
Their requirements are few, and their daily crop of freshly
opened blue, and scarlet with white single trumpet-shaped
flowers makes them wonderful Patriotic Flowers are normally open only from dawn to
mid morning, but the newer varieties
tend to hold their flowers open most of the day, especially in cloudy weather.
Here's what I do to them ... ready for the Press!

Terica's Flower Impressions: This is an updated picture of the garden above!

This is an updated picture of the garden above!

Hi all ,I am trying to update some pictures today and saw this , figured I 'd let you see what it looks more like now .
for my "pico de gallo salsa"
pico de gallo, while the tomato-based condiment is better known as salsa picada, which means minced or chopped sauce, or salsa mexicana, because the colors red (tomato), white (onion), and green (chile) are the colors of the Mexican flag.

Pico de gallo can be used in much the same way as Mexican salsas or Indian chutneys, but since it is less liquid, it can also be used as a main ingredient in dishes such as tacos and fajitas.

The silver container has Cilantro . I have onions that multiply . I have 3 types of tomatoes, "yellow heirloom pear tomatoes" , "Better Boy Tomatoes " , and a small " cherry tomato" .
3 kinds of peppers too. all hot!
The tan potter has forget me nots , my 3rd try . Planted seeds straight in the ground and got very little :-( Maybe if I forget abot them they will pop up later! :-)
The elephant ears will be moved this fall , they are protecting a precious strawberry plant given to me last year from a Great Pressed Flower artist and gardener Pat Smith in Tenn. She calls it , "Red Lipstick Strawberry" . The blooms are going to be red! I say going to be , because I have not seen them Yet!! :-(
But I have new runners on it!! :o)
We change it all the time , I call it the starter garden ! Only thing will stay in the long run is my herbs. I will update soon ! click the pic for a close up!this is what is looked like a week or so ago!
I will try to put some close ups of the garden soon! Happy Planting !

Happy Mothers Day to All Moms Everywhere

click on the picture for a close up of my newest Garden friend!

Hi all , Hope you all have a great day . I went to spend some time with my Mom Friday and spent the night. I do not like being out there in the traffic and city on holidays! I am just a "country bumpkin" speaking of found a bunch of daisies growing Wild on the highway , stopped and got her some to add with the other flowers I was bringing to her! :o)
We had a Blast ! we went to the Mall and ate . I am very Proud to say I lost my shopping bag and it was returned!!! It was nice to know folks are still good out there!
We went to Walmart and shopped there , I found some beautiful heirloom yellow pear tomato plants and some yellow bell peppers !!! Could not find any around home left, too many Gardeners ! had to find them in the Big city! Yeah.
Mom found a cute little multicolored plant it's flowers look kind of like snapdragons. the size of your little nail. then she found a Loaded fuchsia plant ! Her apartment looks like a flower shop!
we finished shopping went back and ate pizza . Signed her up for the WWPFG , then stayed up till after 2 am , i got up as usual at 6 in a daze! Sending her Welcoming letter to the Guild!!!
I left and was home by 1:30 ,unpacked and Crashed for an hour or so!!
So then I went out to plant my yellow tomatoes in my raised garden spot! I had dug the second hole when I thought I saw a Pretty colored leaf! as I am reaching down telling it " Aren't you Pretty ! It LOOKed back at me!!! It was a snake :O) It wasn't moving much to get away , so I thought I had probably chopped him by accident with my hoe? :o( Turned out it was too full from eating by the shape of it was a small vole!!!
I ran in the house , told Carl and grabbed my camera ! I have learned we Only have 4 snakes in North Carolina state that are Poison . I figured he probably was not? So I took pictures ,then scooped him up in an old pot till I could find out what is was?
In minutes I found out it was a Non -Poisonous Eastern Hog-nose /aka Puff Adder snake. Gets about 2 feet or so . Best part they eats slugs, snails and voles!!!!
So we put it back in the garden! Yes we put him back. So Long slimy critters eating My pansies!
So look at the Newest addition to my garden! Watch out slugs !! he'll be ready to eat again soon!
Happy gardening!
